Police have charged a 66-year-old bus driver from Hamilton in a GO transit bus crash north of Toronto that killed a 56-year-old woman.

Provincial police say the bus was travelling eastbound on Highway 407 in Vaughan at 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 14 when it hit a guard rail on the right side of the highway for an unknown reason.

Police say the bus then veered onto a grassy area where it rolled onto its side and ejected a woman.

Police say Radika Nankissoor of Brampton, Ont., died after being trapped under the bus.

OPP say the driver and two women on the bus suffered minor injuries while two men were uninjured.

The driver is charged with careless driving and is scheduled to appear in court on April 10.
