An Ancaster man who was arrested last month in connection with a series of historical sexual assaults on teenage members of the Burlington Sailing and Boating Club was rearrested Thursday after a seventh victim came forward, Halton police say.
Sean Hewson, 31, has been charged with one count of invitation to sexual touching and is scheduled to appear in Milton court Friday.
After four alleged victims came forward last month, police arrested and charged the 31-year-old with several offences, including sexual assault, sexual interference and sexual exploitation. He now faces 19 charges in total.
The accused is a sailing coach who volunteered with the Burlington Sailing and Boating Club for more than 10 years and until recently instructed at the Bronte Harbour Yacht Club in Oakville.
All of the victims were between the ages of 13 and 16 when the alleged offences took place, police say. Det. Sgt. John Mans told CBC Hamilton the allegations stem from incidents that occurred starting in 2003.
Police ask anyone with additional information on the case to call Halton police's Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Bureau at 905-465-8760.
