Police are searching for three suspects after a stolen car was used as a battering ram in an overnight smash-and-grab at a west Hamilton gun shop.

Around 1:10 a.m. on Sunday, a grey compact sedan drove into the front doors of Al Simmons Gun Shop, located on the southwest corner of Locke Street South and Canada Street.

Three suspects were seen fleeing with firearms, acting Staff Sgt. Andrew Toms said in a Sunday news release.

Officers were able to recover the all of the stolen weapons, but have made no arrests in the case, he said.

The Hamilton Police Service's Break and Enter, Robbery and Auto Theft unit continues to investigate.
