Hamilton shattered a 22-year-old cold record Thursday.
The lowest temperature on record at the Hamilton airport since 1961 was –12.8 C, set way back in 1992. As of 7 a.m. Thursday, it was –19 C.
Hamilton also broke a snowfall record yesterday, as the 22 cm of snow that fell during Wednesday's storm broke the old record of 20.3 cm from 1968.
And as if that wasn't enough – a wind chill warning is still in effect for the city, too. As of 7 a.m., the wind chill had plummeted to a frigid –30 C. At the very least, you can expect sunny skies for most of the day, with clouds rolling in come the afternoon.
There's a 30 per cent chance of flurries overnight, but thankfully, temperatures are set to rise up towards the freezing mark by morning.
Friday's high is set to be 6 C, giving us a break from all this cold.
