A Hamilton man has been charged with stealing a TV projector from someone's car and then struggling with the driver who confronted him.

The driver spotted a man carrying a TV projector around 9:40 a.m. on Wednesday near 123 Charlton Ave. The projector resembled one he had in his car, police say. He went back to his car and found it unlocked and the contents ransacked, and the projector was gone.

The driver found the suspect, who was running away, and called the police. The two men got into a struggle while police were responding.

The driver had minor injuries.

A 19-year-old is charged with stealing an iPod and projector from the victim's car. He is charged with theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5,000, assault, possession of cocaine and failing to comply with probation.
