Hamilton weather, traffic and more: Daystarter Monday

Happy Monday, Hamilton.

We're creeping towards the holidays with some pretty mild weather – it could go up to 6 C today.

No major traffic snarls to report just yet this morning – but police are warning of foggy conditions, so make sure to leave enough space between you and the car in front of you.

If you're looking to get gas, the cheapest price in the area is 92.9 at A&L Petroleum at 859 Hwy 6c & 5th Concession West in Flamborough.

GO Buses and trains on lines connecting with Hamilton are running on schedule this morning.

Here's what police are reporting on the roads:

• QEW Fort Erie bound at Eastport Dr, Hamilton: two vehicles on the left shoulder, no injuries. 7:28 a.m.
• Collision: Barton Street East and Kenora Avenue. 6:58 a.m.
• Collision: QEW Toronto bound on the downside of the Burlington Skyway: three vehicles blocking the right lane, no injuries. 6:29 a.m.

Today's forecast calls for clouds and a 40 per cent chance of drizzle. Fog patches dissipating this morning. High 6 C.

Cloudy tonight with a 40 per cent chance of drizzle. Fog patches developing after midnight. Low 3 C.

Expect more of the same sort of thing on Tuesday with drizzle in the forecast and a high of 6 C.

Earl Kitchener Elementary School is considering changing playground safety protocols in the wake of an attempted kidnapping in October, but not all parents are on board. 

More than 100 parents have signed an online petition to challenge the school's proposal to limit playground access in the morning to students and staff only, which means parents must leave the playground after dropping their children off and can only observe from the sidewalk or the drop-off area.
