A local support care worker spent part of Friday afternoon locked in a bathroom after he was held captive and threatened by a client, police say.

It happened around 5 p.m. – that's when police were called to a home at Barton and Parkdale. The victim told police his client locked him in the bathroom and then threatened to kill him. The victim managed to get out of the home and call police.

Officers showed up and arrested the client.

A 66-year-old Hamilton man was charged with forcible confinement and threatening death. He was released on a promise to appear.
