A 30-year-old man who evaded police for nearly nine months is now in custody, say Hamilton Police.

Cesar Sosa, of Kitchener, was wanted on three counts of assault, criminal harassment and break and enter dating back to July 2013.

Detective Paul Henderson of the Fugitive Apprehension Unit said all the accounts are related to domestic incidents concerning two female victims.

Henderson said Sosa was able to evaded police living life on the run, using a network of friends in his hometown and Hamilton to avoid being caught.

But Police say Sosa frequented his old hangouts, and a plea for the public's assistance from Hamilton Police Monday was answered. Henderson said a tip came in that led to Tuesday's arrest without incident.
