Commuters heading from Hamilton to Toronto and back on the GO Train will likely need extra time to get to where they're going Tuesday, thanks to record shattering rains that drenched the city Monday night.
"Last evening's torrential rains have washed out sections of track across our rail system," reads a statement on GO Transit's website.
On the Lakeshore West line, train service is running from Aldershot to Port Credit, but commuters will need to take a shuttle bus from Port Credit to Long Branch. Trains are then running from Longbranch to Union.
"The following train trip will run as scheduled then turn into a shuttle train once completed," the statement reads.
There are no scheduled delays on Hamilton to Union Station GO Bus service, but Union sustained major flooding Monday night, so a little extra time would be well advised.

Most subway service in Toronto has resumed for people that use the TTC once in the city. There is currently no service from Jane Station to Kipling Station on the Bloor/Danforth line because of flooding on the tracks. Shuttle busses are getting people back and forth, a statement from the TTC says.

Anyone flying out of Pearson Airport on Tuesday has been asked to call their airline to see if flights are delayed. The airport's website was down overnight and into Tuesday morning.
