Among the guests for Hamilton's annual Chinese New Year celebration Saturday: A few real sheep.

Hundreds of Hamilton residents and dignitaries visited city hall Saturday for performances, ceremonies and snacks to usher in the Year of the Sheep. The annual event is organized by the Chinese Association of Hamilton, the Hamilton Police Service and the city.

The celebration featured performances of traditional Chinese music and dance, as well as speeches from dignitaries.

"Today, everybody's Chinese in Hamilton," said MP David Christopherson.
