With Valentine's Day falling on Saturday and Family Day on Monday, this weekend is all about spending time with those you love. Here are a few events in Hamilton to keep your family busy this long weekend.
Bounce around at Kids-Fest
Want to tire out your kids this weekend? Take them to Kids-Fest at the Hamilton Warplane Heritage Museum. The event is Canada's "largest inflatable festival," bringing fun and educational activities for children 12 and under. There will be inflatable bouncy castles and slides, interactive games, activities and crafts including exotic animal shows, magicians and Mad Science demonstrations.

When: Saturday Feb. 14 to Monday Feb. 16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Attend a Hackathon
Computer geeks unite! This weekend McMaster University hosts deltaHacks – the first student-run Canadian Hackathon for Change. The event brings 300 university students together to who will use computer-programming skills to code for a good cause. The event is open to any university undergraduate students.

Visit a museum
If you're into weird stuff you don't want to miss Fieldcote Memorial Park and Museum's new exhibit called Weird and Wonderful, featuring odd and intriguing artifacts. Some of the weird objects on display include mustard gas ointment and an antique wheelchair. Visitors can enter a contest to guess the mystery item and win a free party rental at Ancaster Old Town Hall.

When: Exhibit starts Saturday Feb. 14 and runs until Saturday May 2, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Fieldcote Memorial Park & Musuem, 64 Sulphur Springs Rd., Ancaster
Cost: $3.50 admission for adults, $3,00 for seniors/students and $2.00 for kids

Go a bowling for a good cause
Can't escape the cold weather for a tropical vacation? Bust out your best Hawaiian shirt and support the community at the Hawaiian Super Bowl for Housing and Homelessness. The bowling event is hosted by Splitsville Bowl on Sunday morning. Bring six family members or friends to bowl for a good cause.

When: Sunday Feb. 15 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Where: Splitsville Bowl, 1525 Stone Church Rd. E, Stoney Creek
Cost: $25 per person for two hours of bowling, includes shoe rental and pizza lunch
Visit the Hot Chocolate Festival
Braden's Hot Chocolate Festival comes to Dundas this Family Day. The community event focuses on family fun, active living and nature. Activities include a lineup of live music, a family scavenger hunt, arts and crafts, food truck vendors and lots of hot chocolate to keep warm. Free shuttle service runs from Highland Secondary School to the festival.
What: Braden's Hot Chocolate Festival
When: Monday Feb. 16 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Dundas Valley Conservation Area Trail Centre, 650 Governor's Rd., Dundas
Cost: Free admission and activities
See the Frog Chorus at the Gardens
Want some indoor family fun? Check out Frogs: A Chorus of Colours, on display at the Royal Botanical Gardens until April 12. The amphibian exhibit introduces visitors to the amazing world of colourful frogs. If you've never thought of frogs as beautiful, this exhibition will change your mind.

When: Open Family Day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Cost: Admission fee is $12.50 for adults and $7.50 for kids
Free Family Day Skating
Hamilton's recreation department offers free Family Day skating at arenas across the city. Hours vary depending on location so check their website for a full list of arenas and skate times.

Frosty Fest at Fifty Point
Fifty Point Conservation Area is hosting outdoor fun for all ages. Lots of things to see and do, including scenic wagon rides, ice fishing on the marina, skating on the pond, complimentary hot chocolate, a warm bonfire, taxidermy displays of birds of prey, song birds and upland game birds.
What: Frosty Fest
When: Monday Feb. 16 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Fifty Point Conservation Area, 1479 Baseline Rd., Winona.
Cost: $10 park entrance fee includes everyone in your vehicle.
