Lake Land Meats and Farm Market is recalling smoked trout and smoked arctic char from stores because of the potential presence of dangerous bacteria.

According to The Canadian Food Inspection Agency, these products were sold at The Cheese Shop on Locke up to and including Feb. 13 2015. The fish "permits the growth of Clostridium botulinum, which causes botulism.

"Consumers should not consume the recalled products," The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said in a news release.

Food contaminated with Clostridium botulinum may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. "Symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, fatigue, dizziness, blurred or double vision, dry mouth, respiratory failure and paralysis," the agency says. "In severe cases of illness, people may die."

"There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products."
