Hamilton snow

Hopefully you don't have to get anywhere this morning. (Brian Laufman)

Environment Canada has issued a pair of weather advisories for Hamilton, with freezing drizzle and blowing snow expected Sunday.

The freezing drizzle advisory is in effect across much of southern Ontario leaving thin, icy sheets on roads and sidewalks. Environment Canada said relief is on the way — cold air from the north will turn the drizzle into the flurries by the afternoon.

However, whatever snow does fall with be moving fast. The national weather service also has a blowing snow advisory in place with winds expected to gust over 60 km/h, reducing visibility to less than 500 metres for afternoon and evening drivers. The blowing snow advisory is expected to last into Monday night.
