On top of an anniversary and a birthday on New Year's Eve, add one more special day to the holiday season in the Brignall-Kumar household.
Michael Morley Brignall-Kumar was born 47 seconds after midnight on Thursday, making him the first baby born in Hamilton in 2015. He was delivered via caesarean section at McMaster Children's Hospital and weighed 5 pounds, 15 ounces.

Parents Kavita Brignall Kumar, 26, and Eric Brignall celebrated Eric's 27th birthday and their two-year wedding anniversary on Wednesday. They had planned to go to a movie to celebrate their last anniversary as a couple without kids.
But doctors discovered low amniotic fluid levels in a regular ultrasound checkup Wednesday morning, and decided to deliver baby Michael early. The couple spent the evening in the hospital instead.
Brignall and Brignall Kumar met in Scotland while he did his master's degree in finance, and she did hers in psychology. They married in India and lived in London, England, until May, when they moved to Hamilton. Brignall works in downtown Toronto and Brignall Kumar plans to apply her training in the mental health field in Hamilton. Her parents live in Dubai and his in Arizona.
Brignall said he'll have some tips to impart to his son about navigating a holiday birthday, but he said he always enjoyed his New Year's Eve birthday as a kid.
"I thought everyone had fireworks every year on their birthday," Brignall said.

Meanwhile, in the lower city, Kelly and Matt Heaney welcomed baby Weston Thomas Heaney about a minute after Michael, at 12:01:48 a.m.
Born at weighing 8 pounds, 3 ounces, baby Weston looks "almost identical" to how his big brother, two-and-a-half-year-old Brayden, looked as a baby.
The Heaneys knew Brayden's gender before he was born, but for their second child they decided to wait and be surprised.
"It's a great way to do it," Kelly Heaney said Thursday in the hospital's "Celebration of Life suite".
"One minute in and he made our whole year."
