Happy Monday, Hamilton.

Last week's extreme cold is finally behind us (at least for now) so enjoy the relatively seasonal temperatures while you can – the wind chill is back tonight.

Expect about 5 cm of snow today, so watch for slippery conditions.

If you need gas this morning, the cheapest price in the area is 79.9 at the Costco at 100 Legend Court near Golf Links Road in Ancaster.

Both the 6:12 a.m. and 7:05 a.m. eastbound Go Trains from Hamilton to Toronto are delayed by about six minutes this morning. The 7:13 Union train to Aldershot is delayed by about six minutes as well.

Here's what's being reported on the roads:

  • A traffic hazard on the QEW Toronto bound on the upside of the Burlington Skyway has cleared. 7 a.m.

Snow ending this afternoon then cloudy with 40 per cent chance of flurries. Amount 5 cm. Wind becoming northwest 20 km/h early this afternoon. Temperature falling to  - 7 C this afternoon.

Partly cloudy with 40 per cent chance of flurries early this evening then clear. Wind northwest 20 km/h becoming light late this evening. Low – 19 C. Wind chill minus 27.

Expect clear skies early in the morning then a mix of sun and cloud with a 40 per cent chance of flurries in the morning and early in the afternoon. Wind northeast 20 km/h becoming light late in the afternoon. High – 11 C. Wind chill – 29 C.

About a dozen aboriginal-rights advocates staged a protest in front of Sir John A. Macdonald's statue in downtown Hamilton on Sunday, detouring a local society's celebration for the bicentennial birthday of Canada's first prime minister.

The protesters converged at Gore Park around 1 p.m., just before the annual wreath-laying ceremony organized by the Sir John A. Macdonald Society was slated to begin.

And the Hamilton Bulldogs have not set a date for the return of defenceman Jarred Tinordi after he was injured during a brutal fight with the Utica Comets' Andrey Pedan in a game over the weekend.

Tinordi suffered head and facial injuries during the second period of the American Hockey League game at FirstOntario Centre, according to the team. "There's no timetable for his return," the team said in a release Saturday afternoon.
