Choose your spook-adventure 

It's Halloween. If you can brave the chill drizzle forecast for Friday evening, take the kids in your life trick-or-treating. Then consult our guide to events and haunted places around Hamilton to check out. 

Dig deep in your cupboards

Students from St. Thomas More Catholic Secondary School are coming around town Friday collecting non-perishable food for the Neighbour 2 Neighbour Centre for its "We Scare Hunger" drive. Last year, the drive brought in 75,000 pounds of food.

Eat food while watching other people run 

It's too late to sign up if you haven't already, but Hamilton's Road2Hope event features 1K, 5K and 10K races on Saturday, and half- and full marathons on Sunday. Spectators at the finish line at Confederation Park can get food and coffee from a handful of popular Hamilton food trucks. (Check this map for road closure information.) 

Peep some pumpkins

Visit Gage Park on Saturday to see some of your neighbours's best pumpkin-carving skills. "Give your pumpkin one more night!" organizers say. The parade starts at 6:30 p.m. More info on Facebook. 

Absorb art

The Art Gallery of Hamilton has been anticipating this exhibition for months: Check out a collection of Cezanne paintings, opening Saturday. The paintings will be on display through February 8. Admission is $10. More info at the AGH website.

Change your clocks; change your batteries

And a reminder: Change your clocks back one hour on Sunday, and while you're at it, change the batteries in your smoke detectors.
