The debate over assisted suicide will return to the spotlight today on Parliament Hill as M-P's hear an impassioned plea against allowing people to help others kill themselves.
Steve Passmore is a disability activist from Hamilton who will tell Parliament that he will be "defined as unworthy of life" if society allows assisted suicide for people.
Passmore says the Supreme Court must guarantee his right to suffer and to be treated by a physician.
In a statement released by the Euthansia Prevention Coalition Passmore said "the Supreme Court must guarantee my right to suffer and to be treated by a physician. I am a person with a disability and I live with suffering. When society defines suffering as worthy of death, then I am defined as unworthy of life."
The press release said that Passmore will make his case against assisted suicide to members of parliament at a parliamentary luncheon on Thursday.
More to come.
