A 47-year-old man hit by a train in Hamilton last week has died.

Police were called to the area of Birge and Cheever Streets by CN Rail around 2:50 a.m. on Sept. 10, where a train had hit a pedestrian.

The man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but was expected to survive.

Hamilton Police's collision reconstruction unit investigated.
