Hamilton firefighters are still battling several hot spots Saturday morning, after a huge fire ripped through an industrial building in the city's east end overnight.
The fire happened around midnight at 135 Princess St. near Sherman Avenue.
The building is about 100 years old and houses several autobody businesses, according to Fire Safety Officer Dave Christopher.
Firefighters arrived to find a "heavy volume of fire" and immediately upgraded the fire to three alarms, Christopher said.
Several cylinders with flammable liquids inside the business exploded. Firefighters also dealt with several car fires.

Residents within several blocks of the fire were evacuated. They were allowed to return around 6 a.m. Saturday morning, Christopher said.
Several firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion. No other injuries were reported.
At the height of the fire, there were about 75 firefighters and 24 fire trucks at the scene, Christopher said.
"A large portion of the city's fire trucks were there," he said.
Christopher said he does not know the exact cost of the damage yet, but considering the equipment and the cars inside the shop, he estimated that it could be between half a million to a million dollars.
The Ontario fire marshal has been called in and is expected to arrive Saturday morning.
Once the investigation is over, it is possible that the building would be demolished because it is structurally unsafe, Christopher added.
"There's not much left," he said.
The Ministry of the Environment was called to monitor air quality.
"They didn't find anything of concern," Christopher said.
As of Saturday morning, about 10 firefighters remain at the scene to check on hot spots, Christopher said.
