A construction crew accidentally ruptured a gas main and caused a natural gas leak on the Mountain Wednesday morning.
It happened around 8:30 a.m. in the area of Rymal Road East and Dartnall Road. A construction crew was digging at a site with a backhoe when they accidentally struck an underground gas main, police say.
Union Gas was notified and they shut off the gas. There were no fires or explosions, police say. High winds helped dissipate the gas.
