Power is returning for more than 1,500 households and business that lost hydro service on Sunday morning.
Horizon Utilities said an underground distribution problem had caused electricity to go down for a 1,529 customers in an area bounded by Main Street West to the north, Park Street South to the east, Robinson Street to the south and Queen Street to the West.
Service had returned for all but around of the affected 150 customers by 10 a.m.
The hydro company said on its website that a full restoration is expected by 12:30 p.m.
Horizon Utilities reported another, much smaller outage in the city's east end on Sunday morning. Around 145 customers in an area just south of the intersection of Queenston and Nash roads were without power, but service was restored before 10 a.m.
The outage stemmed from "an animal contact" with hydro equipment, Horizon said.
