A 22-year-old Hamilton man faces criminal charges in connection with a May 7 collision on the Lincoln Alexander Parkway.
Around 6:50 p.m. that evening, a westbound vehicle lost control and crossed over into the highway's eastbound lanes at the Upper Paradise overpass, colliding with two other vehicles.
Paramedics took three drivers and one passenger to hospital. One of the drivers sustained life-threatening injuries and is still in hospital.
The Linc was closed both ways for several hours for the cleanup and a police probe. As a result of the investigation, "excessive speed" was determined to have been the main factor that led to the collision, police said in a Wednesday statement.
On Tuesday, officers arrested a 22-year-old Hamilton man and charged him with two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.
He was held for a bail hearing.
