Girl was trying to cross Wayne Gretzky Parkway when struck, police say

A 13-year-old girl from Hamilton is in critical condition after being struck by a car Sunday afternoon.
Brantford police responded to a serious collision at the intersection of Wayne Gretzky Parkway and Dunsdon Street around 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
The girl was trying to cross Wayne Gretzky Parkway when she was hit by a car, according to police.
The girl suffered serious head injuries and was taken to McMaster Children's Health Centre, according to police. She was listed in critical condition.
The driver is identified as a 20-year-old man from St. George, Ont.
The Brantford police would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the collision. Anyone with information is asked to contact Const. Darrin Wilson of the traffic section at 519-756-0113 ext. 2228.
