A wind chill warning has been issued for Hamilton for Sunday night.
Environment Canada says an overnight low of –22 C for is in forecast. But "light to moderate winds will combine with these cold temperatures to give wind chill values into the minus 30s," the agency said in a Sunday statement.
Under these conditions, people can develop frostbite or hypothermia within minutes if they don't take proper precautions, the statement warned.
Hamilton has been under a cold weather alert since Feb. 23. The city's medical officer of health issues the alert any time the current or expected temperatures drop below –15 C or –20 C with the wind chill.
Monday night is expected to be another chilly one for southern Ontario. An overnight low of –20 C is in the forecast for Hamilton.
A 60 per cent chance of snow and a high of –10 C are expected for Tuesday.
