Music, movement and marriage-planning — there is a wide range entertaining events on tap for Hamilton on Saturday and Sunday. Here's list of things to do this weekend while the snow melts.
Shen Yun 2014
Billed as the world's foremost Chinese dance company, Shen Yun prances its way into the city this weekend for three performances at the Hamilton Place Theatre. The show boasts an elaborate blend of classical Chinese dance and music, accentuated with colourful costumes and kaleidoscopic video displays.
Saturday's shows are set for 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., while a 2 p.m. matinee is scheduled for Sunday. Tickets, available at Ticketmaster.ca, start at $57 and go up to $132.

Bulldogs games
The Hamilton Bulldogs are back at Copps for a pair of home games this weekend. The Rochester Americans will roll in Saturday for a 7 p.m. contest, one night after the division rivals face off south of the border. And on Sunday, the Dogs host the Iowa Wild for a 4 p.m. game.
Tickets for each game range from $24 to $34.80 per person and are available at Ticketmaster.ca.
Bridal show
Wedding season is still months away, meaning wedding-planning season is in full swing. Lovebirds, their loved ones and lovers of all things matrimony can get into the spirit at the Hamilton Halton Spring Wedding Show this weekend. Running on Saturday and Sunday at the Careport Expo Centre (270 Longwood Rd. S. Unit #1), the exhibition will feature the latest bridal fashions, seminars on planning the big day, and raffles for wedding-related prizes.
The show runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days. Tickets cost $12 at the door and $10 online.

Sultans of String
Renowned for fusing such disparate sounds as Celtic folk, flamenco and jazz, Toronto-based world music outfit Sultans of String play the Molson Canadian Studio at Hamilton Place on Saturday night.
The show starts at 8 p.m. Advance tickets are $30 for adults, $25 for students and seniors, and $27 for members of the Matapa World Music Organization. Admission is $35 at the door.

Ryan Van Sickle
Dundas-born, New York-based strummer Ryan Van Sickle returns to town Saturday for his annual soiree at the Pearl Company.
