A Hamilton woman faces numerous charges after she allegedly broke into a lower-city home and assaulted a male occupant.
Around 4 a.m. on Saturday, police received a call about an "intoxicated female" entering a house on Sherman Avenue South near Main Street, said Andrew Toms, an acting staff sergeant with the Hamilton Police Service.
The intruder assaulted a male resident, who received "very minor injuries" in the altercation, Toms said.
The woman, who was unknown to the victim, fled the house before police arrived to the scene.
Officers found her on the roof of another building a short time later, Toms added.
Upon her arrest, he said, the suspect tried to assault one of the police officers and was found in possession of a number of knives and an amount of crack cocaine.
The woman's bail was opposed, Toms said.
The victim was not transported to hospital.
