So, we've had Black Friday and Cyber Monday. We've shopped in stores and online and got the best deal we possibly can.
Today is Giving Tuesday: time to give back. Last year, online donations after the two biggest shopping days in the U.S. increased by 53 per cent when Giving Tuesday was established. How about making a donation today? A reminder that the government of Canada is still matching monetary donations to the Philippines until Dec. 8.
You can also head down to CBC Hamilton's newsroom at 118 James Street North and make a food donation going to our local food banks. We've got a bin in the office for the entire month of December. But, don't forget this Friday is Sounds of the Season, a full-day open house to support our food banks! Come for a silent auction, to learn more about hunger in Hamilton, to make a donation, to have a holiday cookie and to listen to some great music from Dawn and Marra and Harrison Kennedy. OPP just reported a two-car collision on the upside of the Skyway bridge Toronto-bound. Vehicles in the right shoulder. No injuries.

You'll be able to see your breath on your walk to work this morning. It's -4 C at 8:00 a.m., going up to a high of 3 C later today. A bit of fog to begin, but that will clear shortly.
Possible showers tonight combined with a drop in temperatures means a risk of of freezing rain around midnight. But the temperature is expected to rise to 5 C by morning.
Tomorrow will be shockingly warm for a December day: a high of 8 C.
A downtown councillor says he won't ask police to reconsider their resources at a King Street East plaza after a deadly weekend shooting. Where police choose to patrol, Ward 2 councillor Jason Farr said, is an operational decision that police base on statistics. But local businesses don't agree.
The King and Caroline plaza was also the site of a fatal stabbing just two months ago. The plaza, with a Tim Hortons, a pita shop and convenience store, often serves bar goers at the nearby Hess Village.
The Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board has a new chair. Trustee Jessica Brennan was voted into the role at a board meeting last night. Former chair Tim Simmons' two-year terms was complete. Here's five issues Brennan will have to face during her term as school board chair.
