Montreal Canadiens Marc Bergevin announced Wednesday morning that the Canadiens have assigned defenceman Jarred Tinordi to the Hamilton Bulldogs.
Tinordi appeared in six games with Montreal this season, recording no points and nine penalty minutes.
The 21-year-old split last season between Hamilton and Montreal. Last season, the 6'6", 227-pound defenceman shared top defenceman honours on the Bulldogs with Nathan Beaulieu. Beaulieu was recalled to Montreal yesterday and played in the Canadiens 4-3 loss in Montreal to the Edmonton Oilers.
In 67 regular season games with Hamilton, Tinordi, from Millersville, Maryland native recorded 13 points (two goals, 11 assists) and 71 penalty minutes. In eight regular season games with Montreal, he recorded two assists and two penalty minutes. In five playoff games with the Habs, he recorded one assist and 15 penalty minutes.
Tinordi was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the first round (22nd overall) in the 2010 National Hockey League Entry Draft.
Hamilton's next game is scheduled for Friday, October 25th, when they will host the Rochester Americans (AHL Affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres) at Copps Coliseum at 7:30 p.m.
