Someone in the Hamilton area just got a whole lot richer.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) says the winning ticket in Friday night's $30-million Lotto Max draw was sold in the Hamilton area.
In addition, the OLG says an Encore ticket that was sold in Saint Catherines has yielded a $100,000 prize.
This is not the first time this year the winning ticket for $30-million lotto jackpot was sold in the Hamilton area.
Gayle Zolaturiuk, born and raised in the city, won a massive Lotto 6/49 take on a ticket she purchased at Big Bear Food Mart on Limeridge Road West.
"Each week I only play one Quick Pick and one ENCORE. I always said that you just need one ticket. But I was still in disbelief when I checked my ticket and discovered that I was the winner of the big jackpot," Zolaturiuk, who discovered she had won after checking her ticket online, said in March.
"My heart started racing. I just couldn't believe it. I kept looking at it again and again to make sure I was really seeing what I was seeing."
