A car fire on the eastbound 403 at Wilson St. in Ancaster caused traffic delays on Thursday morning, fire officials say.
Crews responded to a single-vehicle car fire on the highway just before 10 a.m., said Claudio Mostacci, a spokesperson with the Hamilton Fire Department.
Mostacci said he didn't know the cause of the fire. He also said it wasn't clear whether anyone was injured.
Deanna Basso was stuck on the 403 eastbound behind the scene of the fire. At 10:15 a.m., she told CBC Hamilton via Twitter that traffic had ground to a halt.
"People are out of their vehicles," she said.
"And [judging] from my rear view mirror, I'm sure the traffic back up is in Windsor by now," she joked.
Minutes later, however, she said the fire had been extinguished and the left lane of the highway reopened.
