A man and a woman, both aged 31, were killed Thursday night when their motorcycle crashed in Burlington.
Halton Region police say the Waterdown man lost control of the motorcycle as he tried to turn left from Guelph Line onto Mountainside Dr. just after 9 p.m. The woman, from Burlington, was his passenger, police say.
Two people were killed in a crash on Guelph Line just north of the QEW in Burlington. (Tony Smyth/CBC)A car made contact with the motorcycle in the intersection, but police say they don't know if this is why the motorcyclist lost control.
The 42-year-old Hamilton man driving the car was not injured and police released him from the scene.
Police have not yet released the names of the motorcyclist or his female passenger, who were both declared dead at the scene.
Guelph Line was closed in both directions for about six hours.
Witnesses are asked to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 905.825.4747 ext.5065.
