Police are looking for witnesses of an east Hamilton shooting after a man arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound to his hip.
After 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, an adult male showed up at Hamilton General Hospital after being shot, said Frank Miscione, a spokesperson for the Hamilton police.
The victim's "injuries have been deemed non-life-threatening," Miscione said.
The shooting, he said, took place in front of a building on Barton Street East just east of Sanford. Police were still holding the scene as of 9:50 a.m. on Sunday.
Investigators don't have any suspects in the case, Miscione said. The victim, he added, is not cooperating with police.
People with information about the incident are asked to call Det. Matthew Fletcher at 905-546-3821 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
