Hamilton man not talking after Windsor shooting, police say

A Hamilton man was found suffering from a gunshot wound in Windsor's west end on Sunday morning, but police say he is not co-operating with investigators and no suspects have been identified.

Staff Sgt. Jeff Verkoeyen told CBC News in a telephone interview that an ambulance was on call when paramedics saw a man collapse in the Peter Street and South Street area shortly before 6 a.m.

It turned out the man had been shot.

The 24-year-old was taken to Windsor's Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Verkoeyen said the shooting remains under investigation.
