Care worker defrauds senior of $70K

A Hamilton woman has been arrested for defrauding an elderly man she was supposed to be taking care of.

For over two years, a 25-year-old personal support worker was fraudulently cashing cheques for her 81-year-old client, police say. Over the course of two years, the woman cashed 133 cheques from his bank account totaling over $70,000.

The woman was arrested by police for fraud on June 28 and held for a bail hearing. She is charged with fraud over $5,000.
