A 56-year-old man has been taken to hospital with minor injuries after a break and enter on Queenston Road.

At around 10:00 p.m. on June 17, three men wearing dark clothing and hoodies broke into the rooming house and began kicking and punching a tenant in an upstairs bedroom. When the man fought back, his assailants fled back down the stairs.

Another tenant from a downstairs bedroom heard the commotion and came out to help and was also attacked.

The suspects fled the scene on foot.

Police say that the suspects said nothing to the men and took nothing from the home. The area was searched with a K-9 unit but nothing was found.

Hamilton police media relations officer PC Debbie McGreal-Dinnings says that at this point it is unclear if the victim knew his attackers. Hamilton police detectives are still investigating.
