Reporters go to great lengths to get their stories.
Case in point: To learn what it's like to compete in a monster truck rally, CBC Hamilton's Cory Ruf rode shotgun with Calgary driver Cam McQueen in his behemoth-on-wheels Northern Nightmare.
What did the journalist learn? Well, to start, monster trucks are incredibly loud. And don't even think about sipping a cuppa while the beast is in motion.
But most of all, riding in a monster truck is high-octane fun.
Highly recommended.
The Maple Leaf Monster Jam Tour hits Copps Coliseum (101 York Blvd.) in Hamilton this weekend. The shows run on Saturday and Sunday and begin at 2 p.m. Tickets start at $20 for adults and $15 for children and are available online at Ticketmaster.ca, by phone at 1-855-872-5000 and in person at the arena's box office.
