A dispute over a video game escalated into a physical assault ending in a 19-year-old getting stabbed in the arm Tuesday.
Around 11:30 a.m., Hamilton police were called to a house near West 3rd Street and Southbend Road West on reports of the stabbing. The young men were friends who were hanging out at the house, most likely playing video games, police said.
"The argument was in regards to the ownership over a particular video game," Debbie McGreal-Dinning, media relations officer for Hamilton police, explained.
The argument got heated and the 19-year-old victim was allegedly stabbed in the arm with a knife. He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A 22-year-old Hamilton man has been held for a bail hearing.
