Hamilton police have arrested a man wanted in connection with a stabbing that took place in the city's east end in January.
On Thursday, 26-year-old Richard Jessop was arrested on an outstanding warrant for attempted murder. Police say he was arrested "without incident" in the area of Main Street East and Kenilworth Avenue.
Jessop was wanted in connection with a stabbing that took place in the city's east end in the early hours of Jan. 12.
Around 4 a.m. that morning, a female 911 caller pointed police to a man who had been stabbed.
When officers arrived at 18 Centennial Parkway S., they found Charles Jankevicius, 22, who was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The woman who called police was nowhere to be found.
Police say Jessop and Jankevicius knew each other. Jessop is scheduled to appear in court Friday morning.
Anyone with information surrounding the incident is asked to call Sgt. Paul Hamilton at 905-546-3825.
