The Montreal Canadiens announced Thursday that defenceman Jarred Tinordi has been recalled from the Hamilton Bulldogs.
Tinordi, 21, has played 55 games for the Bulldogs this season, notching 11 points (2 goals, 9 assists) alongside 51 penalty minutes.
This will be the bruising defender's first stint in the NHL since being selected in the first round of the 2010 NHL entry draft by the Canadiens. Tinordi takes defenceman Greg Pateryn's spot in the lineup, who has been sent down to the Bulldogs.
Tinordi played two seasons for the London Knights of the OHL from 2010-2012, posting 30 points (3 goals, 27 assists), a +31 rating and 203 penalty minutes in 111 regular season games, while leading the OHL in plus/minus during the 2011-2012 season with a +39 rating.
The native of Burnsville, Minnesota helped lead the Knights to an OHL Championship and a Memorial Cup appearance in 2012 while registering eight points (3 goals, 5 assists), a +15 rating and 27 penalty minutes in 19 post-season games.
The six foot six, 218-pound defenceman is the son of former NHL tough guy Mark Tinordi.
