A snowstorm created major difficulties for commuters in and around Hamilton on Friday morning.

A tractor-trailer has rolled over into a ditch at the 403 in Ancaster. No injuries were reported.

The Ontario Provincial Police reported a spate of accidents on the 403, the QEW, including the Skyway Bridge and Highway 6.

Hamilton police announced that the West 5th St. hill is closed in both directions.

"We've been seeing collisions, but nothing serious," Sgt. Dave Woodford of the OPP's Highway Safety Division told CBC Hamilton at around 8 a.m.

Woodford advised drivers to take special precautions while on the road.

"We're asking everybody to slow down if you're out there."
