Police say a Hamilton man was mugged on his way home around midnight on Feb. 21 in the Hess and Jackson Street area.
The 37-year-old told police he was approached by a man and a woman who asked him for money, then forced him to the ground.
Two other men then arrived to help hold him down, police said, while the woman went through his pockets.
It's not clear how much money was taken before the group fled.
Police said the man was not injured. He returned home before calling them with a description of the man and woman who first approached him.
He was unable to provide a description of the two men who helped pin him to the ground, police said.
