This weekend, the Hamilton area is playing host to several public events to mark Remembrance Day, which falls on Sunday.
The centrepiece of the Hamilton observances will be a parade of local veterans, garrison units and cadets. The group is scheduled to leave the armoury at 200 James Street North at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, and will march to the cenotaph in Gore Park. That site will serve as the venue for a public memorial service, slated for 10:45 a.m.
The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, located at Hamilton International Airport, will also hold a special Remembrance Day service. The event is scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m. and conclude at noon.
Additionally, the Hamilton Military Museum (610 York Boulevard) is offering free admission to its exhibits, including a remembrance-themed display, from Friday until Sunday. The museum will be open from noon until 4 p.m.
Other Remembrance Day services are planned for all around the Hamilton area. Click here for more information.
