Police investigate outside of Happy Hourz bar in Hamilton.

A 48-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries after he was stabbed near a Hamilton bar Tuesday night.

Police responded to a call at 94 MacNab St. N. around 10 p.m. where the victim was waiting. The suspect was inside the victim's apartment, located above the bar. Witnesses chased the suspect out of the building but he was identified and later arrested at his home on Park St. S.

Police have charged a 29-year-old Hamilton man with attempted murder. He is being held for a bail hearing scheduled for Wednesday.
