Cars thieves target downtown Hamilton

Police arrested a 23-year-old Hamilton man after a series of cars were broken into downtown early Wednesday morning.

Around 2 a.m., police found an abandoned car on John St. at Wilson St. that appeared to have been stolen. Police had the car towed and are still looking to contact the owner.

In the same area, police located two suspects—a man and a woman—breaking into cars. The woman was released without charges while the man has been charged with mischief under $5,000. Further charges are pending as police continue their investigation.
