CBC Hamilton's best Hamilton song competition is back with indie rock stalwarts Arkells and an icon who was taken from us too soon in Stan Rogers.
With Hamilton as host city for the 2015 Juno Awards, we're looking for the best song by a Hamilton artist, and we're doing it with a no holds barred, single elimination, bracket-style online tournament.
Two songs enter. One song leaves: In Tuesday's battle another upset. Ian Thomas's big hit Painted Ladies lost to hip-hop crew Warsawpack's Poor Boy Blues. Painted Ladies peaked at #4 on Canadian charts in 1973 but couldn't get more than 38 per cent of the vote. Warsawpack moves on to round 2.
Here are our next two contestants in the first round, and we want you to vote for your favourite. Voting for this match up closes at midnight Wednesday.

Arkells: Whistleblower
Arkells have become synonymous with Hamilton's music scene in recent years as one of the area's most celebrated musical acts. The band's last album High Noon was their highest ever chart debut, and earned them a second Juno nomination.
Arkells have made a name for themselves as a relentless and thoroughly enjoyable live act, as evidenced by a wild set at Supercrawl 2014. Whistleblower remains one of their best live cuts – as anyone who saw the band perform with the National Academy Orchestra can surely attest.
Stan Rogers: Barrett's Privateers
Though his rich baritone is often associated with the east coast, Stan Rogers was a Hamiltonian born and bred. His lasting contributions to Canadian folk music resonate to this day, decades after his tragic death in a plane fire back in 1983.
It's difficult to choose just one of Roger's songs, but Barrett's Privateers is a bona fide modern sea shanty, putting it into a class of its very own.
