GO Transit spokesperson Malon Edwards told CBC Hamilton that commuters should keep checking GO's website for the most up to date train times.

"It's happening because of a freight train blocking the tracks, and we just can't move until it's out of the way," he said. "It's much longer than we'd like our customers to wait for sure, but it's out of our control."

Edwards could not say what company owned the train.
