Hamilton police have found a stolen van filled with the carcasses and cremated remains of dozens of family pets — and now they're trying to figure out who took it.

Gateway Pet Memorial reported their company van was stolen on July 10. Gateway offers pet cremations and viewing/visitations — so the remains and cremated remains of over two-dozen pets were in the back, police say.

Police tracked down the vehicle Wednesday morning in an alley south of Cannon Street East and East of Birch Street. All of the animal remains were still in the back, police say.

No arrests have been made. Detectives are still investigating.
