Toronto-bound lanes of the Burlington Skyway will be closed at night over this weekend to complete ongoing anti-corrosive maintenance on the bridge's steel trusses.

The Ministry of Transportation says the $20-million project which started in August 2012 will be rolled out slowly. This weekend's work is part of the second phase of applying the anti-corrosive coating to the steel, which began this spring and is expected to be completed in the Fall of 2016.

The Toronto-bound lanes over the Skyway will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday night, 11 p.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday night and 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. Sunday night. The ministry said the impact on traffic is expected to be "minimal" with cars being rerouted along Eastport Drive.
