Masked men invade Waterdown home

Police are searching for three men who forced their way past a homeowner and into a Waterdown home early Wednesday morning.

Officers were called about the incident around 1 a.m. A woman knocked on the front door of the home, waking up the people who lived there, police say.

Once the front door was opened, three masked men forced their way inside.

"They were looking for a person who does not reside at that home," Const. Claus Wagner told CBC Hamilton. "They didn't have the wrong home, the person just doesn't live there."

Wagner wouldn't elaborate, as police "don't want to give out too much information," as they're "hoping someone will come forward."

Nothing was taken from the home, and all four people left in an older model Nissan Maxima, police say. No one was injured.

The female suspect is described as white, 5'8" tall, with a slender build and straight, shoulder length medium brown hair. She is believed to be in her late 30s or early 40s and wore a blue parka and jeans.

The three men are believed to be in their early 20s, and wore dark clothes with their faces covered.
