Good morning, Hamilton! It's Friday, it's not (totally) freezing and the roads are much clearer than the last couple of days – what more could you ask for?
(Fine, two weeks off at an all inclusive in Mexico, but we can't help you out with that, sadly).
No issues on GO Train or Bus routes linking to Hamilton this morning.
Here are the slowdowns and accidents being reported by police today:
- Traffic problems at Main Street and Dundas Street. 7:55 a.m.
- The 403 westbound ramp to 52/The Northbound ramp to 403, Ancaster. 6:56 a.m.
- Hwy 403 eastbound east of Hwy 6 North, a disabled vehicle is blocking the right lane 6:38 a.m.
Much milder temperatures expected today. It's –3 C as of 7 a.m. in Hamilton, with a high of 7 C coming today. There's a 30 per cent chance of flurries early this morning, with winds out of the southwest 40 km/h gusting to 60 km/h.
Tonight will be cloudy, with a few showers beginning this evening. The wind will be coming out of the west 40 km/h gusting to 60 km/h. The suspected low is 1 C.

Rumours are swirling this morning that Mayor Bob Bratina will not be throwing his hat into the ring in October's municipal election. Instead, he would run federally as a Liberal MP against David Christopherson in the Hamilton Centre riding.
Bratina is expected to make a "special announcement" on CHML's Bill Kelly Show just after the 9 a.m. to "talk about his political future."
And city estimates show it will cost an eye-popping $1.6 million over three years to put bicycle lanes on Cannon Street. But several councillors say that's not enough for them to withdraw their support for the project.
